Tianjin Harbor Economic Area Petroleum Equipment and Marine Engineering Park Located in the core area of the new economic growth pole of China— Tianjin Binhai New Area,  Tianjin Harbor Economic Area enjoys the preferable geographical position of the center of Bohai Rim Economic Circle, where is the eastern starting point of Euro-Asia Continental Bridge as well as an important marine outfall of inland countries surrounding China. THEA is 50 km from Tianjin downtown and 160 km from Beijing. Tianjin Harbor Economic Area, a new offshore industrial town integrating the harbor and industries, came into shape through reclamation with a total planned area of 200 km2. As national recycling economy demonstration area and national new industrialization demonstration base (for Equipment manufacturing), THEA targets itself at an ecological harbor economic area predominated by equipment manufacturing industry in northern China. Fully utilizing the unique advantages of the land  and shoreline resources, insisting on the direction of development of port and industrial integration, THEA focuses on the oil-field services, offshore engineering, ship building and repairing, heavy equipment, rail transportation and wind and nuclear power equipment, besides these, THEA also develops the industries on oil and food, port logistics, scientific and technologies research and development. By now, XIngang Shipbuilding base of CSIC，Zhongji Equipment of MCC, BOMESC, Tengsheng offshore engineering, Shenzhen Chiwan Base have been put into production or put into use. Weatherford GE Oil and Gas, NOV, Baker Hughes have invested in THEA, the THEA Petroleum Equipment and Marine Engineering Park（PEMEP） has been initially formed.
