德国机械设备制造业联合会（VDMA）拥有3000多家会员企业，是欧洲投资品工业领域最大且最为重要的机构。其总部位于德国美因河畔 法兰克福，拥有相关领域专家400余名。VDMA下设37个专业协会，并拥有一系列跨专业的论坛，委员会及工作组。德国各州的地方协会负责直接与会员企业及当地政府政治相关负责人建立联系。而在首都柏林及布鲁塞尔的欧盟组织中，则由VDMA直接与政界进行联络。近年来，在世界上国民经济极为重要的市场，如 中国，印度，日本及俄罗斯，VDMA均设立了自己的办事处及服务中心，用于向各会员企业提供帮助。
VDMA is the German Engineering Federation headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. Since 2004, we have representative offices in China: now in Beijing and Shanghai. We represent 3,000 mechanical engineering companies in Germany and act as a bridgehead for our member companies in China. We keep a strong network in China and provide professional market information related to the mechanical engineering sector. The VDMA Forum Process Technology and the VDMA Process Plant and Equipment sector are one of 39 specialized industry sectors where our association is active.
