中国石油集团工程技术研究院有限公司（简称工程技术研究院）是由原中国石油集团钻井工程技术研究院有限公司和休斯敦技术研究中心强强联合、重组整合形成，是中国石油天然气集团公司直属科研机构。其发展定位为：中国石油集团公司油气工程技术参谋部，油气工程基础前沿及高新技术研发中心，油气工程高端技术支持与服务中心，油气工程高端科技人才引进培养平台，油气工程高新技术产业化平台。主要从事井筒工程的基础和前沿技术、尖端工具和仪器、入井流体的研发和推广。工程技术研究院将充分利用中美两国智力资源、发挥内外两种体制优势、融合东西两种创新模式，努力打造国内领先、比肩国际的工程技术研发机构，为集团公司建设世界一流综合性能源公司提供工程技术服务和保障。

Having integrated CNPC Drilling Research Institute and Houston Technological Research Center, CNPC Engineering Technology R&D Company Limited (referred to as CPET) was established in Nov. 2017 as a technological headquarter of CNPC, R&D center of advanced and frontier technologies, world-class technical support and service center, training hub of premium researchers and industrialization base of technological innovations in the field of oil and gas engineering. It focuses on R&D and promotion of fundamental, advanced and frontier technologies, tools and equipment related to borehole engineering.By adopting “One Enterprise with Two Systems”, CPET is going to serve as a dedicated R&D center of fundamental and frontier technologies.
