WRAP is a company based out of Singapore to strategically support the Asia Pacific region in the structural rehabilitation and repairs of pipelines using the most advanced composites. We have a wide range of products which are stringently tested by leading third party testing laboratories serving the oil & gas industry. Our range of code compliant products comply to standards such as ASME PCC 2 – 2008, Article 4.1, ISO/TS 24817: 2006, US Department of Transportation (DOT) –CFR Title 49 Parts 192 & 195,CSA Z662-07, API 570 addendum 4, Section 8.1.4 and ASME B31. A major part of its business involves “cold repairs” for the oil and gas industry. This implies the use of only EX certified cold grinding and cutting tools in Zones 1 and 2 areas for both preventive and corrective maintenance programs. WRAP has been trained in the use of the EX certified cold grinding and cutting tools to execute “cold maintenance and repairs” as hot welding is not an appropriate option in an operational plant, the use of “cold welding” methods should be deployed to provide suitable joining, adhesion, reinforcements. Surface preparation and a clean surface is key to ensure that composite repair systems adhere effectively to metal pipelines, the use of “cold grinding techniques” in conjunction with composite epoxy/resin based treatment becomes a very effective solution for even permanent repairs.
