Guangxin Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co., Ltd, former name is GMG Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (GSHI for short) is a Chinese-foreign joint venture specializing in the research and manufacture of marine engineering equipments and special-purpose vessels, controlled and established by Guangdong Machinery Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. (GMG for short) under Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group Ltd. GSHI is located in the Linhai Industrial Park, Zhongshan, with a floor area of 382,000 m2 and a costal line of 780 meters, and was chosen as a key construction project of Guangdong Province in 2009. GSHI has a 100,000-ton dock and a 600-ton gantry crane, a 30,000-ton semi-dock berth and a 200-ton gantry crane, an 600-meter fitting-out quay and an 80,000m2 plant building. The designed annual shipbuilding capacity of the project is 1 million tons with annual output value of RMB 4 billion.
GSHI started shipbuilding from the end of March 2009, and its first vessel, a 11,000-ton salt carrier, was completed and launched in early December of the same year, and became the first 10,000 tonner in Zhongshan Municipality; in May 2010, GSHI was chosen as a top 500 modern industrial enterprise of Guangdong; in July 2010, GSHI’s Technology Center was awarded as “Municipal-level Enterprise Technology Center” of Zhongshan Municipality for its over 20 R&D projects and patents; by May 2011, GSHI has already established asophisticated production system, and has been certified to the quality system of Lloyd's Register of Shipping; by June 2011, GSHI Have completed to undertake reorganization & share system reform under the approve of State Assets Administration Committee and Municipal Bureau of Forgien Trade and Ecomic Cooperation of Guangdong Province; in July 2011, GSHI was chosen as Key-supported project of Guangdong 12th Five-year Planning.
