Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) is one of the first "world first-class universities with first-class disciplines" in China. Its predecessor was Chengdu College of Geological Exploration founded in 1956. In 2019, it became "a world first-class university with first-class disciplines" jointly run by the Ministry of Education and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. In 2022, CDUT was included in the list of "world first-class universities with first-class disciplines" in China again.
