As a CAS-governed innovation-oriented university integrating research and education, UCAS focuses on graduate programs while offering elite undergraduate education since 2014. Evolving from CAS’s 1951 postgraduate system, it was renamed in 2012. Leveraging 113 CAS institutes, UCAS provides full-spectrum education (bachelor to PhD) with 13,186 faculty mentors, including 278 CAS/CAE academicians. By 2022, it hosted nearly 60,000 postgraduate students (50.3% PhD candidates), 1,660 undergraduates, and 1,957 international scholars. Through research-driven training under its "integration of science and education" philosophy, UCAS aims to rank among world-class universities by 2025 and become a global leader by 2035, providing key talent for China’s scientific self-reliance.
